Disney World Recap

I love Disney!  And when I say Disney - I'm talking the one and only Magic Kingdom!  And when I say love, I mean LOVE!  Giddy like a 12-year-old in love, LOVE.  It IS the Happiest Place on Earth!  We usually go 2-3 times a year and it just never gets old!  And seeing it through my kids' eyes is just amazing!  You walk through the gates and stroll onto Main Street - it's just the best feeling :)

We stayed at a hotel on the monorail line so we literally had door-to-door service to and from the park.  It's such a luxury - especially after a long day when everyone is hot and tired and the kids have entered crank-ville!  Plus my kids think riding the monorail is an actual ride so it's a win-win.

So we got to the park at 8:45ish (park opened at 9:00am) just in time to see Mickey and Minnie and some of the character welcome everyone to the park.  It's exciting!  And the park was already decorated for Halloween (Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Party is ongoing from 7:00pm-midnight almost every night this month, but we didn't go to that! :( ) - so it was 2 of my favorite things combined!

So, first thing's first, we went straight to see Mickey to take the token family picture.  We have one from every trip!  The boys thought seeing Mickey up close and personal was just the cat's meow!  And we got some great pics!

"Hey Mickey...Look...You're on  my shirt!!"
We actually went on a good amount of rides - it's a small world (classic!), The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ariel's Under the Sea, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Mad Tea Party (AKA the Teacups!).  Unfortunately, the Carousel was broken and Peter Pan's Flight was closed.  Otherwise, I think we hit everything we wanted to ride!!  A good long day at the park and I still got to the gym for a workout!  And I needed that workout because......On the way out we stopped at the Confectionery (it's a tradition!) so I could get the super humongous, creamy and delicious peanut butter cup - and the kids got some m&ms - Y.U.M.! I was eating it on the way home today..
.

It was white chocolate.  I would've preferred milk.  It was still DELISH!
Saturday was an exhausting day so last night we took it easy.  Everyone went to bed early so we could get a good night's rest for our character breakfast this morning at Chef Mickey's.  If you want to see pure happiness (and if your kids aren't scared of the characters!), this breakfast is where it's at!  Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all pit stop at your table to hang and take pics!  It was so great.  And again, we got some great pictures!

We had a great time!  And I always leave there thinking, I wonder when we'll come back?!  Maybe when it's a smidge cooler out!

Speaking of Disney, did anyone run in the Tower of Terror 10 Miler?  That sounds so awesome!!!!

*Note to self: find a race at Disney, register, train and DO IT!!!

No WOD today!  But I'll be back tomorrow with more!

  1. I'm not sure if it's just my computer, but all your photos except for the peanut butter cup (which i'm not complaining about because it does look good), aren't showing up? I've tried reloading a couple times but no such long =( -- either way, your trip sounds like so much fun. I've actually never been to Disney world so i'll just have to live vigorously through you, Ha!
