Hi. My Name is Sammy and I...{get annoyed looking at Facebook!} #TTT

Welcome to my 2nd installment of Thoughts & Things Thursday #thoughtsthingsthursday #TTT!  Today's post came to me a few days ago while I was just snooping around Facebook, like usual.  There are things that people post that REALLY get under my skin!

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Facebook!  Sometimes I get so caught up  - it's been 15 minutes and I'm on someone-that-I-don't-even-know's profile, looking at their pictures! lol  But, since we're still getting to know each other, I'm going to tell you a few examples of what really bothers me!  The good, the bad, the ugly, right?!
  • Posting EVERY picture from your vacation/trip/day at the park/etc:
    • You went to Hawaii? That's awesome!  But is it really necessary to post an album with 600 pictures when some of them (most of them, actually!) aren't even good pics, IMO! lol  Heed my advice - sift through them, pick the top 10, 20 if you really want, and post those!  That's more than enough for us all to see what a wonderful time you had!
  • Posting a status intended for someone that isn't even on Facebook:
    • "Happy Birthday to my Great Great Aunt Gertrude" (who is 95 years old and doesn't even own a computer!).  Do they really think she's going to be able to see those well wishes?  Hate to burst your bubble but she most probably isn't!
  • Spouses posting love notes anything to each other, publicly:
    • Maybe I'm just bitter because my husband isn't on Facebook ;) (officially that is, he does sign onto my profile during the day to see 'what's doing' lol), but is it necessary - when you're probably sitting next to each other in bed anyway - to write on each other's wall how much you love each other or how wonderful your spouse is?! This takes PDA to a whole other level!
  • TMI:
    • Facebook is full of too much information.  Facebook basically IS too much information!  We know where you are, when you're there, who you're with, why you're there, how many times you've used the restroom today ;)  The one thing that I don't do is "check in" don't need to know exactly where I am, right this second, do you? Sometimes too much is just TOO MUCH!
One thing that I LOVE about Facebook that I have to include in this post!  I literally LOL at every.single e-card that I read.  They are hysterical!!

What would you add to the list???
Do you think those e-cards are as awesome as I do??

I'll be back later with my WOD!

DISCLAIMER: This post is dramatic and sarcastic and, although I really do get annoyed while perusing Facebook, I'm exaggerating a little here!

  1. haha e-cards are hilarious! I agree with your pet peves about FB, I actually don't even go on much anymore bc i dont care about all the stuff ppl post!

    1. Ditto! I'd rather read blogs or work on my own!! :)

  2. OK, I have to admit my wife and I do occasionally send cute things back and forth ... especially earlier this year when I was traveling at least 3 days each week out of state for work. Never anything inappropriate in the least or TMI/overshare ... just love :)

But hey, we've been married nearly 22 years at this point, so whatever :D

    1. If it works for you guys.... That's actually very sweet after 22 years! Good for you! :)

  3. AMEN SISTER!!!!

I use to enjoy FB and liked the fact that I could keep up with people that I went to HS wish. But in the last couple of years FB has slowly become such a negative place. I don't need to know how bad your day, week, month, or year has been. I don't mind people asking for prayers but don't put all of your dirty laundry for the world to see.

The other problem with FB is it makes or allows people to think they are some sort of know it all. It is great you feel strongly about things, but don't declare what you are saying as the TRUTH!!!!

Last, I cannot stand all the politics that are talked on FB. People are so mean to each other. People post things and it is usually plain UGLY.

I am sure I could think of more but I'll stop there. I have enjoyed reading/looking over your blog.

    1. Yes - the dirty laundry I so agree with!! I'm glad you like the blog :)
