WOD - October 20, 2013 & New Running Shoes!!

I had an amazing workout this morning, courtesy of Patti at Orange Theory!!

When I woke up this morning I was tired and lethargic (and a little queasy!) from last night - I really should have re-thought that heavy meal and martini at dinner! - but once I started on the treadmill I threw caution to the wind and I was all business...with my new running shoes!! :)

Pretty funky and cool, right?

I've been talking about getting new running shoes for weeks and since these arrived Friday I couldn't wait to try them out!  After a little research, I decided on the Reebok RealFlex Run 2.0 EX.  I was looking for a supportive, lightweight shoe that would be good for indoor running since I do 95% of my running on the treadmill.

From the Reebok website:

With a molded heel counter, dual density midsole, and carefully engineered flex nodes, the RealFlex Run 2.0EX strikes a better-than-ever balance between lightweight, natural motion and great support.
  • Lightweight and minimalist open mesh upper for comfort, support and breathability
  • Low-cut design for added mobility with a 3D FuseFrame eyestay and molded heel counter for a snug, secure fit
  • RealFlex outsole is engineered with individual, multi-directional nodes so your feet can flex naturally as you run, jump and stretch
  • Dual density midsole foam for a responsive forefoot feel with greater cushioning at heel
  • Lightweight molded PU sockliner provides comfort and first feel
  • Beveled heel and crowned midsole promotes a more natural feel

I'm so glad that I picked these!  They fit very true to size.  They were very comfortable, looked awesome and overall just felt great!

Head over to Reebok and check out which shoes would be right for you!!
(I purchased these sneakers on my own with no discount from Reebok.  Just wanted to remind you guys that the links above are my affiliate links!)

Aaaaanyway, back to my workout....
  • During the first half of class I covered 3 miles on the treadmill in about 28 minutes!  I alternated between base pace (5.5-6.0mph) and push pace (7.0mph), with some quick 30-60 second push paces (8.0mph) thrown into the mix - all at a 1.0% incline, as usual!
  • We only did about 3 minutes of rowing today which kindof bummed me out - I really like the rowing machine!!
  • We were in the weight room for over 25 was intense!  Spider push-ups, step ups, weighted squats, box jumps, jump squats on the bosu!, tricep extensions....and a handful of other exercises that I honestly can't even remember right now! lol
I was a sweaty, exhausted mess after class.  I love it!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend - tomorrow is the start to a brand new, wonderful week!  Let's make it a good one :)
