WOD - October 9, 2013

This morning, after dropping our older kids at school, my girlfriend and I had about 45 minutes to kill before Mommy & Me class with the little ones.  So we brought it back old school and went to the park, toddlers in strollers, and walked!  We did this ALL.THE.TIME when our babies were actually babies!  (Both of older kids and our younger kids are almost the exact same ages!)  So the little ones ate Lucky Charms and we got to chat and catch up - we could literally talk all day!  lol  I wore my Garmin Forerunner 305 just because and we covered about 1.25 miles in about 22 minutes - not too shabby!

Before I talk workout I want to quickly fill you guys in on our dinner tonight.....(from My Food n Fitness Diaries) Ashley's BBQ Pumpkin Turkey Meatballs!  There were only a handful of ingredients, it literally took me 5 minutes to prep, 20 minutes to bake and they were delicious!  I served them with spaghetti and my hubby was in heaven!  I forgot to take a pic but it'll be on the menu tomorrow night too so I'll try to remember to take one then!  Thanks for sharing Ashley!!

Anyway, back to my WOD...I waited until tonight to do my formal workout - mistake!  I was tired and so not in the mood!  At all!  Regardless, I pushed on and did Melissa Bender's Tone That Tush! Quick Home Workout.  It took about 15 minutes and literally had my hamstrings and glutes burning after my 1st (and only!) round!!  I've said it before and I'll say it again...the "leg series" at the end is just ridiculous!

After the workout I was watching Melissa's video on pull-ups (will I ever be able to do one? they seriously seem SOOOO hard!!).  I figured instead of just sitting there I should do something....so I did 3 sets of 30-seconds 'lying face down heel taps'.  

That's totally not the proper name, and I can't find it right now on Melissa's blog, but you lie face down with head and chest slightly raised.  You lift your legs - from above the knees down - off the ground.  Point your toes outward and tap your heels together.  It was just the icing on the cake for this booty workout!  I hope I can sit on the toilet tomorrow! :)
