WOD - November 20 - 28, 2013 (A massive recap!)

I have been SO busy with my #ATipADayBeforeThanksgiving series - and then Thanksgiving! - that my WOD posts have been accumulating...and accumulating fast!!  So I figured I'd bore update you in one big post!



Wed - November 20
Orange Theory was amazing tonight! We covered 2.75 miles (at some points I was running at an 8% incline!!), rowed a little and busted out some great strength training....Oh, and at the end of the 30ish minute treadmill portion we did 1 minute of high knees!  As you know I DO NOT like high knees! Ugh!!

We ended class about 5 minutes early so I knew something was up!  We all went to the weight room and we all got in a plank.  The first person to fall was a woman (it was a little over a minute), so the women had to do 5 burpees - while the men 'rested'.  We then all planked again, and another woman fell first (ugh!!), so the women then did 10 burpees - while the men 'rested' again!  Annoying!!

But I love me some burpees so I didn't really mind ;)

Thur - November 21
I must have been in a planking mood after last night because I did Melissa's 20 minute Plank & Burn workout.  It was great!  I didn't think that I had a jump rope (ps - I realized I did over the weekend!), so I just pretended!  I really liked this workout - very different!

Fri - November 22
2 miles on the treadmill in 19:35.  Quick and painless, it felt good!

Sat - November 23
Melissa's awesome Jump and Tone Boot Camp workout - 12 minutes!  Another great, quick workout.  The fact that she's utilizing jumping rope is exciting and new!!  Again, I just pretended to jump rope.....and then after this workout my husband reminded me that we have one in the garage!!

I was so excited that I wanted to actually jump rope....so I did 5 sets of 1-minute single unders!  My calf muscles (and heart! lol) were feeling it!

Sun - November 24
2.5 miles on the treadmill in 23:05!  Another feel-good run!

Mon - November 25

Zuzka's 5 minute competition workout - I completed 10 full rounds + 5 side crunches on each side.  Check it out and let me know how you do!! I can't wait to try it again in a week or 2 and see if I can improve and do more rounds!

Tue - November 26

Bender's newest jump rope video - Better Buns: Jump and Burn workout.  LOVED it!!!  Awesome lower body routine!  Another winner (duh!).  Then, just because I had a few minutes to spare, I did 5-minutes of single unders...and I completed 557!  Jumping rope is a great cardio and you totally feel it in your arms and legs!! I really like that I added it into my repertoire!


Wed - November 27

A quick pre-race 1.5 mile run just to get my legs moving!!

Thurs - November 28

The TURKEY TROT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!  I will do a full re-cap (at some point!) but basically, I felt great, I PR'd and I was so proud of myself!! Holy NSV :)
